Mindfulness for Educators

Why Mindfulness for Teachers?

Educators face an extraordinary amount of stress caused by high-stakes testing coupled with unrealistic pacing. Many schools go underfunded and understaffed, which heightens the struggle against increasing class sizes. Teacher evaluations, budget cuts, the list goes on and on... and yet teachers are expected to give more of themselves than almost any other professional.

Both physically and emotionally, this profession is a demanding one, and it is not unusual for teachers to crack under the mounting pressure. Given these circumstances, it is essential that our teachers learn to care for themselves so that they may continue to care for others as well.

Mindfulness is a key step in doing just that.

Programs Offered for Educators

For both of these classes, you will need to wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat,
water bottle, and small blanket.

Beginning Mindfulness for Educators
Cost: $65.00*

This is a one-day workshop available to educators. Experience is not a prerequisite; all are welcome. In this class, we will cover the foundation of mindfulness, the physical, emotional, and mental benefits it provides, and how to introduce the practice to your classroom. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

*You are welcome to retake this class free of charge
                   anytime after your first attendance.

Advanced Mindfulness for Educators
Cost: $85.00 (includes Card Set)

This is a one-day workshop available to educators who have practiced mindfulness personally and brought what they learned into their own classrooms. In this class, we will cover in detail the effects of mindfulness on childhood development. We will also go over a full-day schedule of where mindfulness fits into your class routine and how it can be used to foster self-awareness, compassion, kindness, and community. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Included in the program fee is your own set of mindfulness activity cards for use in the classroom.
